at what age can pigs eat veggies?

It was suggested to me to take it easy and not introduce too many veggies before my pigs are 3-4 mos old.

So far they've had romaine, carrots, and red and green leaf lettuce.

And of course pellets and hay and fresh grass.

When should I start on other veggies?

Easy, now. They should be started on a variety of veggies from birth.

Great! I'm excited as there is so much starting to grow now We're also getting all kinds of yummy veggies up from down south now (its just planting time here!)

Should I introduce things slowly, or just go nuts, download the charts and give them anything and everything suitable?

New stuff should be introduced slowly in smaller amounts. If they won't eat something the first time, keep trying. Try only one or two new things per week. Don't want to go overboard and give them upset tummies or bloat.

Phew, that scared me. I have a baby and I have been feeding him veggies from the get go.

Ok, we'll take it easy then They've already had the opportunity to try dandelion from the lawn but have chosen not to. I'll likely go for a walk in a wildish area of parkland nearby (there's a complete pesticide/herbicide ban in our city!!) and collect a variety of grasses to start, and maybe some herbs from the farmer's market.

OMG, no! When I called my vet to ask about the mite meds receptionist basically laughed in the phone. I was like... "what???" and she said they had a litter of baby pigs they were adopting out of the office and they had one little male left. I went right over and they let me have him, . It was fate.

I know... but the Mebane pigs are kind of haunting me. I can't stop thinking about how they're not being treated right.

From the website, most of the babies seem to be gone, and I'm going to get mom this weekend *knocks on wood* for one of our former adopters, which only leaves dad, who's neutered.

Oh good! I was trying to launch some kind of a plan to foster them and rescue them out from here but my dh was not feeling it.
