New Piggie in with Old Piggie I was wondering about the nutritional requirements for my new pig. It's been a while since I got my first 3 boars and I forget... I currently have Bonzai (3 months old) in the same cage with Bandit (1 year, 4 months old). Since they share everything, I have been torn between supplementing Bonzai's hay with alphalfa or not. God knows, Bandit would love it, but it could cause stones to occur. Then again, I don't want to nutritionally deprive Bonzai either. Suggestions? PS. Both get timothy-based pellets, as well.

Re: New Piggie in with Old Piggie Solutions are 1. Give calcium rich veggies during laptime. 2. Give alfalfa once or twice per week in addition to the grass hay. 3. Mix a small amount of alfalfa based pellets in with what you are currently feeding. 4. Or you could all the above.

Re: New Piggie in with Old Piggie You don't think it would be a problem for Bandit if I do #2 & #3? Thanks, Ly!

Re: New Piggie in with Old Piggie It shouldn't be as adults can have alfalfa hay from time to time and a tiny amount of alfalfa pellets won't hurt him. I have 5 adult sows all on very limited amounts of Mazuri pellets which are alfalfa based and they are all fine.
