Timothy and Orchard grass seeds

Hello,
I have been thinking for a long time about making a little piggie garden outside. I have a dog and he uses the garden for, well, what dogs use gardens for, the loo! ! So I don't want my piggies on the grass he uses. I have planed to have a little area just for the piggies.
anyway...
I saw on a site recently that you can get timothy and orchard grass seeds and I was wondering if they can have too much of a good thing? When the weather is nice I would like to have them out there as much as possible and they will probably be munching all the time. So is it recomended to have this type of grass or is any other type recomended?
Thanks for reading!

Re: Timothy and Orchard grass seeds

If your pigs are used to eating fresh grass, then no they can't eat too much. Any grass such as bermuda, timothy, orchard, bluegrass are all fine in unlimited amounts.
If your pigs are new to eating fresh grass you may want to limit their grazing time the first few days so that their bellies adjust, but other than that...let them have their fill.
