Hay?? So, as some of you know I have a 3 month old little boy, 2, now, 8 month olds and a 1 year old. I know the baby needs Alfalfa hay, but the big boys aren't suposed to eat it. How do I get it to the baby, but not to the big boys?

Re: Hay?? You can feed him his alfalfa during laptime or occasionally give him floortime by himself, so you can give him a pile of alfalfa.

Re: Hay?? Mkay, how often does he need it and is it okay if he eats timothy hay too?

Re: Hay?? All piggies, even newborns need timothy or some other grass hay in unlimited quantities.

Re: Hay?? Cool. Timothy for all alfalfa for one. Sounds easy enough.

Re: Hay?? You got it! And in another 3 months, you won't need to worry about the alfalfa at all, to make hay feeding that much simpler.

Re: Hay?? Personally, I hate the alfalfa hay. It is so hard and stalky, and my pigs don't seem to care much for it either. I give my younger pigs parsley, kale, and broccoli during lap time to provide their calcium, and they just eat bluegrass hay with the rest in the cage.

Re: Hay?? After 6 months, you can go to all grass hay all the time. They will be mostly grown and don't need as much calcium and protein. You'll also want to go with lower calcium veggies and timothy based pellets.
