| Do your piggies like KM 2nd cut timothy or bluegrass better? Hello, I'm new to this forum and have been reading alot of posts lately. I'm thinking about switching my piggies hay from kaytee timothy to KM's hay. I was wondering, for those of you who have tried both of KM's second cut timothy and bluegrass, which do your piggies prefer better? Also I've read that that are both nutritional similar, but are they both good at grinding down teeth? Your advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

| Re: Do your piggies like KM 2nd cut timothy or bluegrass better? I think that mine like bluegrass better. They like both, though, and will eat either. Sometimes I get KM's mix of timothy and bluegrass so that they can have some of both. And yes, both types of hay fulfill the pigs' nutritional needs, as well as keeping their teeth in check. It doesn't matter what type of hay you get, it's the fact that the pigs are almost constantly chewing on something that keeps their teeth trimmed. |

| Re: Do your piggies like KM 2nd cut timothy or bluegrass better? Why not get a box with both in it and let your pigs decide for themselves? My girls have had KM's 3rd cut timothy and her bluegrass and they liked the bluegrass a bit more than the timothy but different pigs have different tastes. |

| Re: Do your piggies like KM 2nd cut timothy or bluegrass better? I agree, get a box of mixed and let them decide. My pigs preferred the timothy to begin with, and now the little stinkers refuse the timothy at all. They love the bluegrass. |

| Re: Do your piggies like KM 2nd cut timothy or bluegrass better? On the KM's website I only see the mix for a 5lb and then 25lbs and up. I wanted to get the 9lb bag since I'll need more than a 5, but don't really have room to store 25lbs. Would they split the 9lb bag if asked? Thanks! |

| Re: Do your piggies like KM 2nd cut timothy or bluegrass better? Hey Swoosh - I bought the 9lb bag of Timothy and the 5lb of Bluegrass. It has been a winning combination for my 2 girls. They do not seem to have a preference for either. They love and devour both. And 14 lbs is a LOT of hay. I think I've had it now for 2 weeks and I still have so much! I do give them more of the Timothy since I have more of it - but they LOVE both. Does that help? |
