Re: Doesn't Like Any Veggies

It does take some time like the girls mentioned, but once she gets a taste for the veggies she likes, believe me, she'll be squeeling for them =). My boys LOVE peppers (green, red, orange, yellow), I also give them tomatos, carrots, and I try to give them another random veggie each week to see how they like it. And their very favorite snack of all time is corn husk, oh my gosh. I mean they go bananas over it. They even know the sound it makes when I'm shredding into strips. I shred the corn husk over their cage and they go insane, running around like maniacs just waiting for it. Then I have this little hanging blue veggie holder thing, and I put the husk in there. Its like a big game for them, and they love it!

All of my pigs required a LOT of patience. They are very timid animals. You have to give them time...

Mine didn't like ANY of the usual veggies, now they love almost all. (They still don't like any peppers or tomatoes.) The real key for me was to keep trying them. One day they would hate them, the next they loved 'em. It still amazes me. I even caught one nipping at a yellow pepper just tonight. Again, I couldn't believe it! (I've tried peppers no less than 6 times! ) Same thing with brussel sprouts & corn on the cob. It took them forever, but now they love them. It always amazes me how it works if you just keep offering it a little here & a little there. Raddicio is still their favorite though. My gosh, sometimes I think they are inhaling it so fast they're going to choke! They cannot ever get enough lettuce of any kind!

No truer statement ever written! Mine cannot BEAR not eating the same thing the others are, whether he likes it or not! They go crazy!

PLEASE PLEASE don't give up on getting your piggy a friend. It's so important. You will see a dramatic difference in behavior. They learn from each other, too.
