Question Alfalfa Hay

Hey, Oscar is about a month old, I ust bought some Alfalfa grass hay 2day..I saw that someone said on here tht it should only be fed to adult pigs, but I don't think he is going to eat that much, I just saw him eat a few nibbles..

He's not gonig to die if I keep feeding it to him??

Lots of Love,

Em

Alfalfa should only be fed to babies and nursing moms. The person had it backwards. The alfalfa is great for them right now. When they are about 6 months old or so switch to timmothy or another kind of grass hay though. The reason you shouldn't feed it to adults is because it has lots of calcium and can cause bladder and/or kidney stones.
