| Any grass hay will do fine, such as timothy, bluegrass, orchard grass or brome hays. www.kmshayloft.com has some of the best hay on the planet. Oxbow sells the Cavy Cuisine pellet, arguably the best pellet out there. www.oxbowhay.com KM's Hayloft also sells Proform pellets, a very good alfalfa-based pellet, and worth a try as well. |

| cinn&sprinnslave, alfalfa shouldn't really be fed to piggies when they're adults. They should be fed timothy or another grass hay instead. Alfalfa is only used sparingly for older piggies. Also, I've been using Oxbow hay (see www.oxbowhay.com) and have just switched to their Cavy Cuisine pellets, made with their timothy hay instead of alfalfa. It seems that the piggies really enjoy their hay better than all the others I've tried. Can't really say about the pellets (switching with a mixed feed this week and gradually putting them onto Cavy Cuisine), but I've heard it's great! Good luck! =) |
