help!

can i make my own hay? outta the grass in my back yard? ... pet stores around me don't sell hay. and i can't convince my dad to help me look for a place to get some

What area are you in? No hay at all? Have you tried feed stores? They need hay for their digestive tracts and their teeth. Can you print out info and try to educate him?

The grass is ok but not really a substitute. It needs to be clean of pesticides and such. Do dogs or other animals have access to it?

If you have horses and other livestock anywhere around you then there is hay. Even in South America.

If you know of any horse stables then you may be able to get hay there.
