| Storing Hay Ive got a small Half Shed that I wanna store my 20 lbs of Oxbow. Spiders do get in the shed and it stays abot 20* year round. How should I store it? In the box with the plastic around it and top shut. Or without the plastic and top shut. Is it bad if the spiders are able to get into the box? |

| Re: Storing Hay Hay is best stored in the open air off the ground away from sun, rain, and damp. Don't surround it with plastic. (And it doesn't matter if spiders get in it--just shake out the handfuls you're going to feed to get rid of dust and small friendlies.) If you can get a wooden crate to store it in, uncovered, in the shed, that's the best. Or an open plastic bin--but make sure there's not condensation inside the plastic bin. If there's dampness near the hay then mold sets in. Hope that helps. |
