| Hay with the least amount of allergens? Alot of people gave some great advice on different hays to use instead of Timothy. I was just wondering (in terms of allergens, not dust) which hay people would recommend as the best for someone who is allergic to the allergens in Timothy Hay. |

| Re: Hay with the least amount of allergens? If dust is not a problem at all oxbow's orchardgrass would probably be best. It has the fewest hay specific allergens but it's dustier. The dust also bothers us so we use km's bluegrass but it has thicker rougher blades which leave red marks on Chris' hands and it has more scent which is usually a good thing but not if you have hay allergies. I think brome hay might have caused even less problems than orchardgrass but that could be because of the dust. The problem was it's only available in small amounts and the none of the guinea pigs liked it. |
