Don't want them escaping

As you may or may not know I am adopting 3 piggies so I am getting a bigger floor area so that my current pig (Oreo) Can play with his new buds. Well I read in 1 thread (Forgot which one) that some piggies can jump outside of a 14" cage and I was just wondering when i get my grids should i make it 2 grids high or just leave it at one? because I don't want my little buddys escaping but I don't want them to feel walled in.

Re: Don't want them escaping

They will usually only try if there are girls next door.

Re: Don't want them escaping

I have only had my piggy in a c&c cage for about a week but he hasn't tried to get out. Then again he was in a small cage before and he is happy in his new big cage.

Re: Don't want them escaping

Well my piggy hasn't tried jumping out of his floor space cage but I'm not sure if maybe the 4 boars would start fighting and one would run, I guess for the first week or 2 i'll put a towel under my door and shut it so that if they were to get out they would just be exploring around my room.

Re: Don't want them escaping

It's very rare that pigs will get out of a C&C. I had two boars living next to four sows and only had two grids covering the top section where the cages met. They never even attempted to escape. You only need to build the cage 1 grid high unless you want to add a loft.

Re: Don't want them escaping

Yeah I'm going to build a loft at the end of the wall, probably a 1X3 grid section. Thanks for the help
