Coroplast is hard

Today I started on cutting coroplast for my C&C cage but I did horrible job. Is there a way to cut it cleaner or just get it profesionally done, because I sucked but it turned out i guess, my biggest challange was my L shaped hay loft that I will be adding tomorrow. What is also an easy way to build a ramp.

I will post pictures soon

Re: Coroplast is hard

I used a straight plank of wood for ruling and cutting my coroplast, you could also use a wooden ruler.

As for the ramps, If you have spare grids, make it like a tunnel so your pigs can't jump off the ramp! To do this, bent as many grids in half as you need, then zip-tie them together. For the inside, cut a strip of remnant coroplast then you can use binder clips to secure some towels, or fleece to it for traction.

Good luck!

Re: Coroplast is hard

I used a yard stick for the longer lines and a box cutter to score and cut it.

Re: Coroplast is hard

Oops, I used a craft knife to cut and score the coroplast, and I used black duct tape which goes wonderfully with my black coroplast

Re: Coroplast is hard

My first one didn't turn out so beautiful either! But for my second try I used a plain piece of paper first and made a mock-up of my coroplast. I used a box-cutter with a new blade and went slow! I used a heavy piece of wood to line up my cuts (the ruler moved way too much for my liking!) I used double sided industrial strength tape to hold the flaps to the sides - most people don't have that laying around but I've heard packing tape works great too. They actually sell a coroplast cutter for about $13 at some plastic warehouses/distributers, and my place where I get my coroplast will cut it for me, you may just have to ask.

As for the "L" loft - I would definately suggest the paper idea, because you can plan what you need to do without using the actual coroplast!
