C&C cage top sagging

My cages (3x2 & 4x2) look like they are sagging in the middle. Is that normal? I have zip tied (and connected) every point possible and I think it will stay together but I was curious if there is a way to add support. I have cats and they keep trying to get on top to see the pigs.

Re: C&C cage top sagging

I've seen some people use a piece of of PVC pipe with slits in the top for the grid to rest in.

That would give you some added support if you needed it. But maximize their running room.

Re: C&C cage top sagging

You can use wood to support the top. Like this one: Ramp to upper level - Guinea Pig Cage Photos

Check out my cage. My dad used shelving stuff and the back half is permanent and the front half can open

Thank you! I am going to have to do one of those. I am constantly checking on them to make sure they are ok.
