Making the Cage Top Cat Proof?

Hello, I'm planning on getting 2 guinea pigs and builing them a C&C cage. However, I have 4 cats and they're all very heavy and like to jump on things. How can I make a top for the cage that they won't break? What should I make it out of? Would extra grids be strong enough?
Thanks,
Sans Serif
