Hi Everyone! I was just wondering if there are particular carpet remnants that are better than others to use for the top of ramps and lofts....In the pics is seems like short pile, and some even look like that fake idoor outdoor grass carpet, although i would think that would be hazardous to my piggie if she decided to chew on it. Also, I am assuming that untreated wood would be safe when constructing a ramp? Thanks in advance! Kat

Re: What kind of carpet it safe? A low pile carpet would work best. I wouldn't recommend wood because it will absorb urine. You'll come out much better constructing a ramp out of plastic or metal. Have you looked in the photo galleries for idea's, or perhaps this post:http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/...any-ideas.html ?

Re: What kind of carpet it safe? Hello, I have no idea what kind of carpet would be best, but the answers to that question should answer your question good! If you do however decide to use wood (which is okay) you need to put plastic to lino over the top, because I tell you wood with soaked up urine does NOT smell pleasent!

Re: What kind of carpet it safe? a short carpet like people put on porches would be okey. you don't want anything long because piggies could chew on it and get their claws stuck in it.
