Question 8 week old piggy into new cage

I have an 8 week old piggy that i just got. right now i am quaretining(not sure itf that is spelled right) him but I will be moving him in a 2x4 grid cage with upper deck, made with coroplast. Is there any safety precautions I should take? Because he is kind of small right now. Any advice?????

Make the coroplast walls temporarily higher (for a couple of months). Put scrap Coro behind any 6" walls or Cardboard. See this album: http://www.cavycages.com/photos/show...t=532&password=

Don't use any internal grids for hayracks or anything. They can potentially get their head stuck. Wait until they are bigger.

Yes, you can. Just tape it so it is secure.

He may but I suspect that he has mites or lice (looked at him recently) and until those are gone he will not be any where near my piggies cages.... . And I am hoping that by the time the mites/lice are gone he will be ready to adopted soon (have a nice family or some one interested in adopting him). But I can't get my hopes up too high. Piggs here don't adopted as fast as piggs in Minnesota ...

Re: 8 week old piggy into new cage

Oh also some more good news I am going to my first bazaar tomorrow! Wish me luck I want to make at least $50 but I doubt that will happen it's too far away from December... I am bringing my cat tents and maybe some piggy tents. Although I doubt they will sell seeing as no really buys stuff like that for their animasl. But I have a little hope!
