Clorox Anywhere Hard Surface Spray

I was just wondering if anybody uses Clorox Anywhere Spray to sanitize their cages with? I was thinking about using it when I do the once a week complete changing of litter. It states that you can use it on pet bowls, baby toys, counters and more without rinsing. I would sanitize and then rinse well for the cage. Any danger in it? Thanks.

Re: Clorox Anywhere Hard Surface Spray

I'm assuming since it's made by Clorox that is has bleach in it? Your most likely going to have to rinse it off after using it.

Many of us just fill a spray bottle with 50/50 white vinegar and water. It works great and is piggy safe.

Re: Clorox Anywhere Hard Surface Spray

I have used it a few times myself and all is well. I mostly use the vinegar and water. When I had a lice outbreak I got the Clorox Anywhere spray and used it for the first big cage cleaning. I now use it on my kitchen counter and do not rinse.

Re: Clorox Anywhere Hard Surface Spray

From their website- Clorox® : Clorox® Anywhere FAQ

What is Clorox® Anywhere Hard Surface™ daily sanitizing spray and how does it work?

Clorox® Anywhere Hard Surface™ spray is a new sanitizing spray unlike anything else on the market. It is strong enough to kill 99.9% of bacteria, but gentle enough to be used in around kids, pets or food. It's a dilute bleach technology that is stabilized by balancing the pH. By itself, diluted bleach is not stable for very long. The key to Clorox® Anywhere Hard Surface™ spray is balancing the pH to a region that delivers good stability. The end product is a ready-to-use, EPA registered sanitizer that is as gentle as water, with no harsh fumes (EPA Reg. No. 5813-85). This product should not whiten or bleach surfaces.

And

What is in Clorox® Anywhere Hard Surface™ daily sanitizing spray?

Clorox® Anywhere Hard Surface™ spray starts with very pure water and pure refined bleach. The product is then pH balanced for maximum stability.
The concentration of sodium hypochlorite in Clorox® Anywhere Hard Surface™ spray is 0.0095%. This is significantly lower than the sodium hypochlorite level of 6.0% in many common household bleach. The result is a product that is gentle as water, but strong enough to kill 99.9% of bacteria on hard, non-porous surfaces. This means it is gentle enough to use around kids, pets and food.

Re: Clorox Anywhere Hard Surface Spray

Just as a side note, Clorox is a company which still tests its products on animals. Here's a link to the PETA site, which gives you lists of companies which do and do not test their products on animals: Caring Consumer // Resources // Companies That Do/That Don't Test on Animals

Can I suggest looking at some alternative products or manufacturers?

I use non-chlorine liquid bleach; either from Nature Clean Frank T. Ross & Sons - Nature Clean or Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Bleach - Seventh Generation. Both are companies which do not test on animals, and their bleaches are non-toxic, environmentally sound, etc. etc.

Just a suggestion!
