Unhappy Help! I let my guinea pig out to run around, now he's dissapeared!!

I let my guinea pig out to run around and last time I saw him he was under my computer, now he's dissapeared, we put baby carrots all around the rooms he could have gotten into, we even took each of our three dogs by the collar and tried to let them lead us to him, they didn't smell/find a thing! Help, how do I find my little lost piggie?

Hmm.. This wouldn't be good. Just be careful when you're looking for him. You don't want to accidently crush him when you move stuff around. Just think where would you hide if you were that small. Just be patient and I'm sure you'll find him. Good luck.

Thumbs down oh no!

i really hope you find him!! He should definitly be around some where. Be careful with your dogs too. You never know. Also...put food out and does he like the yogurt bites? Cuz my gp comes running when you shake that so maybe he'll come....and make sure there are no wires for him to chew on!!!
Stay on the look out for droppings and put food and veggies out to keep him fed...I am sure you will find him!

Unhappy

Always start is the tightest, darkest spot available.

Chances are VERY good that he didnt go far from where you put him down.
In open territory in the home, they usually only utilize one room, or one space.
Definatly check BEHIND and UNDER the couch and bookcases. These seem to be the most popular spots.

Are you not finding any droppings? If not chances are bad that your piggy has gotten himself in too deep of trouble. Especially with dogs around, he may even just have hidden in one spot and decide never to leave again with those scary things around. Trust me, they WILL starve themselves to death if scared.

Does he usually respond to the serving of food? Does he wheek when you ruffle a plastic bag? Maybe you can use these things to find him.
Where is his food and water available? Has it been touched?

Let us know of any updates. ....

Wow, I hope you find your lost cavy soon! Try putting his favorite treat(s) in every room, making sure to put the same number in each. If one is gone, hopefully he/she will be there. Be careful with the doggies as they can be very intimidating to a pig. Make sure ALL wires are out of the way, since you said he was by a computer. Check all cords for chew marks. Stay hopeful! Good luck on your search.

Unhappy Lost Piggie

Try putting a whole bunch of hidey houses out. That is where my GP goes all the time during floor time. He should get hungry soon and he will want to find something to eat. So maybe he will go into the house. Alos look in the smallest and darkest areas. Thoses placesare a GP favorite places to hide.

it sucks when a GP dissapears . Try to look for it in narrow places , thats where they think they're safe and make their "nests" . Allso , try to lure it with food

Maybe your piggie got stuck somewhere? Maybe it can't get out of its hiding place?

Make sure you check all spots it might have crawled into, but can't get out...

I think you people need to see the age of this posting...hopefully the piggie has been found by now or I guess the looking has stopped. It would have been nice to hear the outcome of this story.

Lost piggy

Really..do you all leave your piggies in just one room or let them have run of the whole house? I let my pigs do both off and on but most of the time they are kept in my room which is pretty well "Guinea pig proof" no wires, or places they can get into and get lost, and no doors opening/closing on em either..and I can see them almost everywhere they are. The girls' cage is in my room so I leave it open so they can get back in it if they feel like it.

Hope she found her piggy too..there is so much he could get into...
