Ramps??

I was thinking of putting a low inclined ramp up to a mini-platform and then back down, about halfway up the square grid (just above the hidey-house), what is the chances they will try to escape or jump off?? Is this safe, or do I need a whole nother level... and even then how down you keep them from jumping?

Half-way up a 14" grid is fine. Mine jump that far without ramps and they jump up and land with ease. The biggest distance has to be between 6 and 8 inches for them jumping up and down.

If they do keep jumping up and down it and you feel uncomfortable with them doing this, then you can simply pop another grid on the exposed side, so they can't jump down, only go up and down the ramps.

You can also make a small coroplast tray, like you do for the base of the cage, just with 2" sides, cut out only where the ramps connect. It's a lot easier for them to just go down the ramp than try to scale a 2" barrier.
