Listen up kiddoes and teens! Please do NOT post your ages on the forum. Cavy Spirit and the rest of the mods worry about internet safety and for these reasons we do not allow ages to be posted if you are under 18 years old. I have edited several threads lately removing ages. If you are under 18, you may want to edit your profile and remove the year of your birth. That will also help keep you safe from potential predators. There are too many oddballs and psychos out there in cyberland who could easily find out where you live.

It shocked me that the thread with pictures of people was allowed. To many weirdos in the world, alot of them sitting behind a pc!

Since when are we not allowed to post our ages? There used to be a thread that asked how old you were, it just seems odd that we're secure enough to post pictures and names and where we're from but age, yup that's what we have to worry about. (rolls eyes.)

I don't mean any offense I just think that's the last thing you should be putting a limit on.

I dont think it is a good idea to put ANY personal info on a public forum. You will leave yourself open to all kinds of sickos and perverts. They can cut and past a copy of your picture and use your face in some wiered porno site. That is why I would not post a pic of me anywhere. Just my thought! :0)

I dont think any details should be allowed on the internet. I do see the point about the age thing not being allowed especially. There could be paedophiles on here thinking 'Ill pretend Ive got guinea pigs to get friendly with that young girl' To many weirdos about, any of us could have lied about how old, how many piggies etc.

I take my orders from Teresa and she told the mods about a month ago that ages for members under 18 are no longer allowed for security reasons. If you have an issue with it, take it up with T. If you are under 18, you shouldn't give any details about where you are from except for maybe the state or country you're from. You should never give the town you live in. I had forgotten about that age thread. Now I will go dig it up and move it to the moderator forum. Thanks for the reminder dag.

I wasn't being rude. I made a simple comment. You took it as rude. I do have a life outside this forum. But part of my life is this forum as I am extremely dedicated to Teresa and cavy cages. It's not my decision to allow people to post photos of themselves or my decision on whether people can or cannot post their ages. I am told in some situations of what to do or not do by Teresa (owner of this forum) and I follow what she tells me. Such as kids/teens not being allowed to post their ages. She has not yet said to any of the mods that kids/teens aren't allowed to post photos. Just as I told dagwell, if you have a problem with something or someone on this site, then address your problem to Teresa.

I debated about the photos.

I'm certainly not going to restrict adults posting whatever they want. We don't allow ages. There are 30-year-old people who look like kids and visa versa. A lot of the photos are links to other sites where they are posted somewhere else with more details anyway.

We're not a generic chat room. We don't allow posting of detailed locations...etc. I'm not one to go overboard in paranoia and assuming the worst. I'm not interested in debating this. Thanks.

Once this guy kept following me in this shop, and when I noticed he was following me, I ran straight to my mum and said really loud so he could hear, something like "Can we have this for dinner?" and then he ran away. It was weird.

I am sick and tired of telling you all not to post your age if you are under 18 and yet some of you do it anyway. If you post your age and you're under 18 from now on, you will earn yourself a 3 day temporary banning and there will be no warning issued prior to the temporary banning.

Well I am over 18 and I could careless who knows how old I am. I also do nto care about who sees my picture or knows what town I live in. I live with german shepherds, I breed them so good luck to anyone who shows up unannouced. Also since I am older [not saying how old

], I am able to ignore perverts and not get sucked into there sicko stuff. I have dealt with a few in chat rooms.

I do agree though under 18 it should be very restricted, because those are the ones more preyed upon. Good call to the mods and to the administration.
