I was looking for photos for my 'website' (coming soon!) and I found this place where this guy lives in Europe, and he lets his pigs in the snow! AND the pigs can get into a pool! 1 drowned! ;( I must complain alot, dont I...)

He lets them play in the snow??? The only animal I've heard that can play in the snow for a miminum of 10 minutes is a ferret! eeek!

Yep, did you go to the others? One pig drowned because his pigs have access to the pond!

I'm so mad....I'm send him an email, though he probably wont answer...

seriously! That is so gross, I think you should email him with a complaint, It might not do anything but maybe if you gave him good information sites it might change his view on raising healthy pigs? I dont know.

Heck, I'll do it. But if anyone does do it I suggest no swearing and making it as mature as possible because if we don't we might not get the point across. I am sure most of you know this but I just wanted to suggest my opinion.

Ok I sent him an email giving him some links and telling him about the overpopulation of guinea pigs and how he shouldn't breed anymore and about the drowning and such.

1. Put some chicken wire at least 12 in (1 foot) tall around the pound, you pasted that one pig drowned because she fell in, well you need to make sure that doesn't happen again.
2. I know Peter died, but if another male cavy ever comes to visit more than 2 weeks, quarintine him (place him seperate) and make SURE he is neutered (fixed) so this one doesn't get Jaana pregnant. There are enough guinea pigs in the world now.
3. Please do something about the mice. Use something SAFE for the cavies, but not for the mice, they can carry disease (as you pointed out) but they can also harm the cavy themselve. Guinea pigs instincts are to run a hide, the only time they fight is males over a female, so they cannot fight back. The mice now may be small, but there can also be rats, which (if big enough) can seriously harm and might even kill Jaana or a young baby.
4.The food you currently feed them is not healthy or safe. Mixed foods are not safe, for the cavy can choke on something in them. Try fiding alfalfa based pellets with no mixes.
