New Group-- Piggy Poppies-- Manly Men Who Own Piggies!

Hello!

I made this group a while back and nobody has joined. So I wanted to spread the word.

Basically it is a group where guys who own Pigs can go. Sure, ladies are allowed! You can talk about whatever we do, and what your significant other thinks of you having Pigs.

I am the leader of the group and we have 1 discussion. I hope to have many more!

Can somebody tell me if there is a "Join Group" button or something. Other wise post here and notify me and I can invite you.

if you click group details (or something like that) at the top right corner, you can choose "join group". It then has to be approved.

If you go to your own profile,and scroll down beneath your albums it should say how many groups your in and a button which says click to join a group. If you click there, it will direct you to a page with lots of groups to join, and if you want to join piggy poppies mainly men who own piggies, type it in in the search bar at the top right hand side, simples.

This struck me as really funny. Who determines if the men are manly enough to join and would a "manly" man really want to be called a Piggie Poppy? :-) I think a manly man would rather be called something like Cave(y) Man... :-) No offense... just thought I'd lighten things up a bit....

Zuidy........I'm not a "piggy poppy" but I went to join the group anyway.

Pay no mind to people making fun of the name........you're not the only one. My cavies know their human dad as "Papa" or "Poppy". I think you should encourage the men to post pics of them with their cavy(s). I have many times been tempted to take pics of Gary with Chester and Maya and post them because there is just something quite touching about the mix of manliness and tenderness with a small creature.

I tried to entice my husband to join, but he immediately denied being a Piggy Poppy. He'd better hope I don't get him on video fawning over his precious little Quinn, LOL. He just gave the piggies a bunch of veggies in their playpen, even though they had their salad today, because they "looked hungry" (even though they were grazing on a huge fresh hay pile in there).

You wouldn't catch my husband on here....although I do catch him talking to the guinea pigs and giving them a good scratch now and then.

I told my hubby about this site and he attempted to act like he wasn't a piggie poppie! I will say that man loves buying fleece for his girls as much as I do. I catch him quite often giving a good scratching and good detailing to the cage.

It's a constant struggle in my household to keep "Papa" from overfeeding the kids. I can go in the kitchen, in and out of the refrigerator, and rustle plastic........and hardly a wheek to be heard.

Ah, but the cavies know that Gary is a sucker for wheeks. They will immediately set up a course of howls that, "oh, Poppy, Mom is starving us and we haven't eaten for days......oh please, please, please" and of course he magically appears with veggies. Baby girl (Maya) still hasn't learned that the sound of running water and Gary keyboarding on his computer aren't worth wheeking for.

Hehe, I understand. It isn't necessarily the title for people who JOIN the group, more-so the group itself.

He's not a member but he lurks occasionally, usually when he's looking for some sort of guinea pig care information. I've told him to sign up, but I guess it somehow saves his machismo if he's only lurking as a "guest."

Aha, was looking through my photos and found some Piggy Poppy evidence of hubby letting the girls literally walk all over him.

I've got a "significant other" moment to throw in!

My boyfriend laughed at me when I got my piggies ("Do you really need TWO?" and "They're like little rats!")

But now, it's gotten to the point where when he comes to visit me, the first thing he does is go play with the pigs before even giving me a kiss hello!

I love my boys. (two pigs, and a boyfriend!) haha
