Hey everyone - we keep missing each other!! Is there any way we can set up a way to get a few of us in there at the same time? I'd love to chat with you guys in a more real time setting!!

sure, i'll do it. We should set up a time every day. What time is the best for everyone. For me it has to be after 5.

NO on the blue strip at the top where it says my profile, go over to the right some and there is a click-able that says chat, click on it and your in the chat room

It would be hard to set up a time everyone on the forum can come on because of the time zones.

Maybe there should be some kind of notation that someone is in there waiting to chat. Another support board I belong to has a chat room that says how many people are in the room. Maybe the icon color could change if there is someone in there. Is that possible Ly or CavySpirit? Just a thought.

At the bottom of the main forum there is something that tells you who's in the chat, but that would be cool if the chat button could change colors too.

Thanks Dagwell! Didn't see that. Yes, it would still be cool if the icon could change so you wouldn't have to keep going back to the main page, scroll down and check.

I'll investigate. In the meantime, I think a regularly scheduled chat would be a very good idea. We're going to have to make it reasonable for the US. It will be too hard to try to accomodate other countries with time zone changes. We can see how it evolves.

I'm thinking 6pm Wednesday (Pacific) 9pm East Coast for a Weekly Wednesday Cavy Chat, and Sundays at 2pm Pacific, 5pm East Coast.

Those time aren't going to work for everyone, but it's an evening and a weekend. I think more people are busy on Saturday than Sunday.

Plan B for a weekend time, could be a Saturday night instead -- 6pm Pacific, 9pm Eastern.

I only want TWO regularly scheduled chats. Give my your time suggestions, I want YOU to post the PST (pacific) and EST (Eastern Standard Time) because you need to appreciate the difference.

I'll put a poll as soon as we get a variety of suggestions. Then you can all vote, and that's what we'll go with.

I'll work on your technical suggestions.

Monday, 8am PST, 11am EST
Sunday, 1pm PST, 4pm EST

Sorry to be US-centric. Just convert your personal preferences to that format. Who knows, maybe the vote will go your way!

Maybe you could make it so that the bar-thingy at the bottom when you minimize (wow love my technical terms, ) it will flash when someone says something. Like they do for instant messaging programs.

We have been experiencing 'chat hiccups'. At random times for random people, the whenever we hit the space bar it posts for us. Is there anything you can do about that?

Just make sure that your cursor is clicked into the typing area. If the post button is kind of outlined by default, that's the problem.
