Wish me luck guys! Well, I'm officially applying for my first *real* apartment on Thursday...I'm soooo nervous because I've never lived on my own, and because of those scary words *Credit Check* (though I've never missed a payment on my cards, so I should be OK...). Ack, I'm so scared...now i have to deal with big girl stuff like grocery shopping and furniature Wish me luck!

Re: Wish me luck guys! Good luck Miko...are you right in Toronto? Or are you in the GTA? Man oh man rent in Toronto for an apartment is more than what I pay here monthly for my house. My brother lives there. So does my mother-in-law. We're going to be there for a week in August. Anyway, enough of my ramblings LOL...good luck

Re: Wish me luck guys! Thanks guys! Yes, I live in Toronto (Well, Scarborough, technically). The rent is going to be about $795 CAD for a 1 bedroom apartment, but it seems pretty spacious, and it's within walking distance of work and school, so it'll cut down on the cost of my monthly bus pass! But yes, rent really is a rip off; I've seen so many buildings that are charging $850+ per month for an apartment the same size as the one I'm applying for! It's been frustrating to say the least.

Re: Wish me luck guys! I pay $710 a month for my apartment in the Junction area of Toronto (next to High Park area) It's on the small side, but utilities are included. The walking distance to work and school wil save you alot of money though. I pay $40 a week on transit, but I work in Mississagua. Have fun on your own. It's tough, but I think it's well worth it
