Custom avatar?

I tried to upload a custom avatar which is 16.7 KB. I tried to upload it and it said it was larger than 80x80. It says it has to be 19.5 KB [font=Arial Black]OR [/font][font=Verdana]80x80 pixels. Can somebody tell me what I did wrong?[/font]

Just keep making it smaller, that's what I did and it eventually worked.

My photo use to be MUCH larger, so I cut it down ( |_| almost) and it just inlarged the picture anyways.

Just make it smaller. Sometime, even by making the size smaller the file size is too big. If so, then copy and paste the avatar onto your desktop. Then presss right click and 'save for web' or something like that. I think that condenses the file size in some way
