Strange Emails That I Keep Getting

Ok, so in like the last week and a half I've recieved three different emails, from three different people, from three different parts of the world, saying that they owe me like 1.8 million. Ha! Now I know these are not real emails, but what is with the sudden surge in getting these? I've never recieved anything like this ever. Where do they get my email from? 9 times out of 10 I don't agree to get spam mail when signing up for things online. I generally check to make sure. So where else could they be getting my email from?

They can get your email address if you post it on forums or in profiles etc. If you put out your email address to the public on the internet the chances are you'll end up with spam.

Ah I see. But I guess my next question is, how do they get an email address that is solely (sp) used for friends and family emails. I have another email that I use to sign up to things.

I get them too. So you saying that we should invinsible our emails.

I can't even remember if I put an email on here. I think that if someone were to need our email address, they could pm us and ask for it. At least this way we would be expecting their email.

I get about 3 of those a day and have been getting then for over 2 years now. Just hit delete.

I know some stuff about this (I've read alot of stuff), so here's what you do:
-Don't open it, it could have some virus in it.
-On certain email things you can block these email addresses.
Thats all I can remember, just be carefull!

I get so much junk mail. That's why I have a public e-mail and a private one for family only. Keeps the junk out of my mail one.
