Yes New member of "the zoo"...

A couple weeks ago, our boy cat, Puck, crossed the bridge from liver failure. He was a week shy of his 7th birthday, and we were all pretty devastated at the loss. Our girl cat, Xena, though took it really hard. For several days, she walked around the house, CRYING, and was just very very upset. There happened to be a kitten in our rescue, a 5 month old who had been bottlefed from day 1, who had been in the cat habitat for a while, and needed a home soon. We took a chance, and adopted him, and he has turned out to be EXACTLY what we needed in our home. I'd forgotten what it was like to have a kitten in the house, though- SO much energy! Anyway, welcome Buddha Floyd. (We don't get credit for the oddball name-- his foster moms named him, and we didn't have the heart to change it.)

Awe, he's beautiful.

I DO remember what it was like to have a kitten in the house and don't think I'd be able to do it again, so you're a braver person than I am!

Kudos to you for taking him in.

Re: New member of "the zoo"...

Congrats on your new addition, he is absolutely adorable!
I adore black cats and yours sort of reminds me of my 9 year old kitty when she was a kitten.

So sorry to hear about your loss though and may Puck rest in peace.

Cute little pussy cat. Congrats. My 17year old cat Fattie who passed away several weeks ago is still sorely missed by our other cat pusspuss. He normally eats like a horse and was very Giddy. Since fattie left us he is so very depressed. He misses his bestest buddy.

Congrats and I am very sorry for your loss. I work at a vet hospital and there are times where our employees have to handfeed kittens from just a day or so old. They turn into little handfuls but so loving.

Thank you! And yes, there is ALL KINDS of mischief in those eyes. He is ALL kitten, for sure, and into everything!

The thing that I think makes Buddha Floyd fit so well is that my girl cat, Xena, was bottlefed as well. Neither one of them really have any understanding of the fact that they are CATS. Both think that they're human, or possibly part dog. :-)

I once had a cat for 8 years which I had raised on a bottle, the mother had left him to die, as he was the runt. He was the sweetest, cleanest cat you could ever imagine! Totally understand the fact that they don't know they are cats, I love cats; however the hubby is deathly allergic, hence is why I got piggies.

So sorry for your loss, but congrats on the new kitty, he sure will keep you bizzie for a long time.
