I was looking around the other day and came upon this: URGENT DOGS (the dog on the very bottom) named Brandy (the yellow lab) Me and my aunt (the ones who are wanting to rescue her) are wondering how we can get her up to Wisconsin from Georgia? I am trying very hard to come up with something but cant seem to! Thanks very very much to anyone who posts!       |

Have you called the shelter and asked? Many shelters have arrangements with transport groups, and they do all the legwork of finding how to get a dog to you. |

I suggest you find a dog forum. A lot of dog forums have organized trains just for rescues like this. |

Try a dog forum, I belong to Just Labs( I have a lab myself) and they have a forum on there. The only thing is, they have a magazine and I can't remember if you need a subscribtion to the mag if you want on the board-but you may not need it. But they have tons of topics, and I wouldnt be surprised if someone on there may be able to help-they are all wonderful. |

When the rescue I work with has an adopter out of state, we usually fly the dog. (weather permitting) You need to contact the shelter and find out if they're willing to get the dog to a vet for a health cert, it has to have it's vaccinations,etc. You would have to send them the money for the transport. The airlines usually make the shipping end pay. Before you jump into this you need to find out what this dogs temperament is. I suggest you contact a lab rescue in Georgia and ask them if they'd help with a temperament test and help you arrange a transport. |
