Which kinds of pigs are your favourite?

Abbyssinian
Peruvian

Abbyruvian
Teddy
Texel
Crested

and
White
Caramel
Dark Brown
Black
Fawn
Grey
Orange/Red
Brindle
Patches

Re: Favourite pig type?

Mine are all mutts, and like dogs, I prefer the variety. Bear is a brindle colored aby/smooth mix, Duke, our baby brindle, we assume is a smooth, and Zane... well, no one's quite sure what he is, He's half long hair, half curly, half squirrel, half-big dog.

I know what you're saying, that's 4 halves. He's a big pig.

Re: Favourite pig type?

As long as my pigs all get along, I could care less about what they look like. For me, it's all about personalities that blend well. As to what kind of pigs I have: 2 American Tri-Color, 1 American bi-color, 1 Crested bi-color, and 1 Abby with dark brown hair that has golden tips (I have no idea what that is called for a guinea pig).

Re: Favourite pig type?

I don't have a favorite per se. It depends on the pig.

Mine are two black & white Americans (one with slightly longer hair), one lemon agouti American (maybe with satin somewhere in the bloodline), and what looks to be a golden roan American Crested.

They would be my favorites

Any pig with fur! (though I don't think I would keep a long hair, so far my exprience is that piggies aren't big fans of being groomed).

I don't think I will ever understand the fascination with skinnies though.

Americans, Abbyssinians, or Cresteds. All pigs are cute, but I prefer the shorter, softer hair.

I like piggies with spirited personalities. With looks, I guess I like any piggy that is cute. Which is all of them.

Cool Re: Favourite pig type?

Getting a long hair was not our choice, but Bear's. Of the pigs he met at the adoption meet and greet, he decided on Zane. I kinda give him a chop cut, up the sides, but I think I may let it grow out and give him a pageboy next time, and I make sure his butt is clear of fur. Bear has a plume, a "tail" of long hair, and I have to trim that too. No big deal, just a pair of small sharp craft scissors.

Of course, the way the hair lays, he looks like Horatio Caine on CSI Miami. If he could, he would pull a one liner, put on piggie sunglasses, and walk off into his house. He's really funny when he popcorns too, because he has to toss his hair to keep it out of his eyes.

Hahaha, cute! Well, I guess that leads to another question- What's your favourite piggy personality?
Bold
Happy
Shy
Brainy and wise (the 'know-it-all')
Sort of stupid... In a cute way :P
Hungry

Or other?

Yes, Duffinvt, he would. If, Duffinvt, he could speak. (Yeeeooooowwww! Won't be fooled again!)

The funny thing is that he fits the personality... Perhaps like Duke Hoover of Cilantro, Zane has a full name we did not know: Horatio Zane.

Re: Favourite pig type?

I don't have a favorite color, but I am partial to texels. All the floofy hair! All pigs are adorable, however, and appearance wouldn't really factor into my decision in getting a pig.

My favorite personality is humorous. Neither of my pigs has a sense of humor, however. Twix is more on the sarcastic side of things.

Twix is my Bold and Brainy fatty Mc Fat-fat. She outsmarts me frequently. I have no idea how that always happens. Like, for instance, when she needs a bath, I turn off the warm water, and keep her in the sink. I watch her for an entire minute, while she's watching me, and the exact moment I turn around to grab a towel, she jumps out. I tried this again a while later and found she did the same thing over and over. Even if I hide behind the door corner, and peek in I catch her with her front paws out of the sink and when she spots me spying on her, she looks like a deer in headlights and stops in her tracks. If I keep her on the bed and turn my back for a minute she makes a break for it and soars off the bed and sends me onto a chasing frenzy trying to get her back. She even knows where to hide. She's fine when she jumps, though. She even jumps off of my lap when i'm busy typing. It all happens so quickly... Did I mention Twix can open room doors by pushing them to let herself in (If not tightly closed)? She knows our whole house...

Dory is my shy sweety bugga-boo. Bugga-boo... I know, I must have issues. Twix is a bad example on her. She's an angel, but she's adopting Twix's antics...

I KNOW what you MEAN. You would think my pigs are being "murdered" every time they see a hair brush and toenail clippers But as for the skinny pigs, they are so "UGLY" they are CUTE Kinda like those hairless cats you see in calendars and pictures. Ugly but cute. I would be afraid they would catch a chill is all having one but otherwise they are cool too. I love ANYTHING critter. I find anteaters and possums cute even though I wouldn't "own" any

Thats just too funny I could "see" Twix doing all that just from your words. What a character. Thanks for this unintentionally (or intentinally?) funny post

Re: Favourite pig type?

Well my pigs are my favorite of course! Bella is a tri colored American and Lexi is a brown and white American (with two shades of brown). My partner's pigs are a tri-colored American and a black American crested.
I like Americans the best, but some Abysinnians can be really cute. I'm not big on the Peruvians or Texels because of the extra upkeep of their hair... I can just imagine how matted and dirty it could get at times. Teddies look cute too but I've never seen one in person. Skinnys don't appeal to me at all, not that they aren't great animals, which I'm sure they are... they just don't have the aesthetic appeal to me. I don't have a color preference, I just like all of mine to look different if possible. If I got another one (which I want to and am trying not to do!) I'd probably want one with blonde or grey, and not alot of black, since Bella has some black, Cody has alot of black and Deno is solid black. As for personality, I like sweet, talkative ones. Mine are surely talkative but not so affectionate and sociable - at least not yet. They are still scared of me. Deno however will come to the door of the cage and stick his head out when my partner is there and let her kiss him; he loves attention.

Re: Favourite pig type?

I love long haired piggies, then abyssinian and american.
When I choose which piggies that I want to buy, i just see how they respond and act (so breed is not important to me). Usually i choose the ones who come to me, sniffing me, or maybe look at me (seems so brave). I'm not really into paranoid and shy piggies, they're less friendlier

I have to say I love all piggies! But, I'm really loving my texel boar, Frodo. He's absolutely adorable and his personality is so loving! He's a beautiful creamy golden colour too! <3
