Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Yes, I am looking for books on my own, I just thought I'd ask here in case anyone happens to know of some that I can't find. I'm doing a paper for my Animal Breeds & Husbandry class in college, and it has to be on a "job" that dogs can have, like sports, activities, competitions, etc. So, since I'm looking into lure coursing with at least one of my dogs, I figured this paper would really help me learn more about the sport. I know there are some good websites, but we can only have one internet source on our citations page. Lol, when she said that, I was like: "Darn. =o" Thanks in advance!! |

"Lure Coursing: Field Trailing for Sighthounds and How to Take Part" By Arthur Beaman -Looks at the history of lure coursing, explains how modern competitions are held, and describes the eligible breeds so it seems to be quite comprehensive... Also have a look at some books especially on popular breeds within the sport, such as Greyhounds like: "The Reign of the Greyhound" By Cynthia Branigan -I'm sure these books will mention lure coursing as Greyhounds are so popular within that sport- Also maybe try visiting local kennel clubs, they might have some of their own publications (like their regulations or policies) that might be of use, and they're not internet sources. Hope any of that helped |
