Appreciated Post! : +5 (+5/-0)
This was on my local CL this afternoon. I thought it was kinda funny and had to pass it on: Please help! After two long years of being on a waiting list for a dog, we have been notified by breed rescue that, at long last, our number has come up and ... WE ARE HAVING A PUPPY! We must get rid of our children IMMEDIATELY because we just know how time consuming our new little puppy is going to be and it just wouldn't be fair to the children. Since our little puppy will be arriving on Monday we MUST place the children up for adoption this weekend! They are described as: One male -- his name is Tommy, Caucasian (English/Irish mix), light blonde hair, blue eyes. Four years old. Excellent disposition. He doesn't bite. Temperament tested. Does have problems with peeing directly in the toilet. Has had chicken Pox and is current on all shots. Tonsils have already been removed. Tommy eats everything, is very clean, house trained and gets along well with others. Does not run with scissors and with a little training he should be able to read soon. One female -- her name is Lexie, Caucasian (English/Irish mix), strawberry blonde hair, green eyes quite freckled. Two years old. Can be surly at times. Non-biter, thumb sucker. Has been temperament tested but needs a little attitude adjusting occasionally. She is current on all shots, tonsils out, and is very healthy and can be affectionate. Gets along well with other little girls and little boys but does not like to share her toys and therefore would do best in a one child household. She is a very quick learner and is currently working on her house training. Shouldn't take long at all. We really do LOVE our children so much and want to do what's right for them. That is why we contacted a rescue group. But we simply can no longer keep them. Also, we are afraid that they may hurt our new puppy. I hope you understand that ours is a UNIQUE situation and we have a real emergency here! They MUST be placed into your rescue by Sunday night at the latest or we will be forced to drop them off at the orphanage or along some dark, country road. Our priority now has to be our new puppy. |

Hopefully it'll put things into perspective for those who decide that they need to get rid of smaller pets when they get a puppy or kitten. Or even a new baby. |

Hopefully they are not really trying to get rid of their children, it is funny but unrealistic. Getting rid of animals to make room for a new baby is unrealistic too. Maybe poeple will think before just getting animals and dumping them when something new comes along. |

It's supposed to be sarcastic. There are tons of ads on craigslist everyday with the excuses of getting a puppy and not having time or having a baby and not having time for their pets anymore. I know situations come up and people need to rehome pets sometimes but sometimes you can just tell that it is an excuse and the person just doesn't want to pet. |

I hope they're kidding. Either that, or the parent has some serious mental disease and somehow got access to a computer. I've seen some funny ones too. Can we all contribute and post the ones we find here? |

I hope you are right but what if it's not and they are really trying to get rid of their kids. Things like that does happen eventhough most poeple don't run a add about it though. |

I think it's more of a lesson to be learn't. Puppys are for life as are children. |

That's been all over Craigslist for quite a while. It's meant to make the point that "oh my goodness! We're pregnant! We have to get rid of the pets PRONTO!" is unnecessary and a major over-reaction, most of the time. |

HaHa. That is the greatest post I have every heard. It reminds me of the situation that I just got my Bandet from. The little girl could or would no long take care of him and wanted to get a new pet, a puppy to be exact and so they rehomed him, not to mention that they had a female and she got pregnant, its a very long story. Ill post it sometime on my blog within the next few days. |
