For years i've heard of adults and teenagers talking about animal abuse, and I was always against it from a young age. Well, not as young as 3, but from the age where children start to comprehend things. I never understood the severity of animal suffering until I saw BraceFace. It's a cartoon that was aired in America and Canada (In the USA it was on Disney and ABC Family) a few years back. It's about an average girl who's life changed because she got braces. Getting braces wasn't the biggest problem here, it's what the braces do. At the orthodonist, while fitting her braces, there was a lightningstorm. Somehow, her braces picked up eletrical waves during the fitting. Now, her braces act as magnets (they magically open lockers and the locker doors hit her in the face) and she sets off car alarms, can listen to phone conversations (In her mouth!), breaks the camera during school picture-day, etc. I could go on forever about this show, but the real point is that she eventually became vegan and told the truth about animal suffering wherever she went throughout every season. There are other teenage things she learns throughout the show too. This show is geared towards teenage/preteen girls.
Sharon (that's the character's real name, Braceface is her nickname given by a bully) has many cats and two dogs. She doesn't wear leather and in a Christmas episode convinced her family to get a Tofurkey (I did the same, ha).
