We are fostering shibas for SIRA(shiba inu rescue association) Shiba Inu Rescue Association (SIRA) . 11 shibas are in need of transport across the country by this weekend. The breeder contacted a local dog rescue and said if they don't take the dogs they will be put down. SIRA stepped in and is moving them to foster homes. Here is the email from the SIRA president. PERMISSION TO CROSSPOST **THESE DOGS MUST BE TRANSPORTED THIS COMING WEEKEND. THE FEMALES ARE AT HIGH RISK FOR EUTANASIA IF THEY REMAIN WHERE THEY ARE.** Shiba Transport, Fort Smith, AR to Chicago, IL/West Liberty, IA/Fort Wayne, IN/Bath, MI/Cedar Point, TX Saturday, August 22nd to Sunday, August 23rd **7 LEGS STILL NEED TO BE FILLED IN TRANSPORTS A, C, E** Transports B and D are filled PASSENGER INFORMATION LISTED AT BOTTOM OF SHEET NUMBER OF PASSENGERS - 11 Shiba Inu RESPONSIBLE RESCUE - Shiba Inu Rescue Association www.savingshibas.com RESCUE COORDINATOR - Aimee Winkler Please respond to admin @savingshibas. com (remove spaces) if you can take a leg/legs or part of a leg. We still need volunteers for the first 3 legs which are the most important! The situation is becoming very urgent. If we don't get volunteers to at least move them out of arkansas by saturday the transport will be cancelled and the females will be put down by the breeder. 9 of these beautiful dogs will be killed and I'm out of places to ask for help so please talk to anyone you know. This is the female we were going to get before the breeder agreed to release the males. She's still on the transport list to go to another home. |

It's awesome that you're doing this. I know I'm late in responding but I'm new to the forum and am still browsing. Years ago, I helped create a site dedicated to ground transports for rescue animals: AcmePetTransport Perhaps that site could help you in the future. |
