Hi: As you already now I have a mini in diapers shelter and I am receiving request of people that want to surrender their animals. Now I was at the vet the other day and I saw on one of the walls a girl that was selling her piggy for 15 dollars I wrote her and told her that if she wasnt able to sell it she could give it to me that I would take care of it. You think it was the right thing to do or not? |

I think you should first encourage people to find suitable homes for their animals themselves. |

I think you'll find that the taking in is a a great deal easier than the adopting out. I wouldn't be seeking out animals to take in. Believe me, they will find you. As for her reasons for rehoming/selling/whatever, I don't think it matters. If the animal needs a place to go, and you're running a rescue/shelter, to me it would seem you're obliged to take in the animal. If you don't have the room that's one thing, and if you don't want to take the animals that are simply unwanted, that's your judgment call - it's your rescue. |
