Snow angel? Psssh! Snow DOG!

Just had to share ... there's a huge snowstorm in the Portland area, and this is Scout, my nearly 9 year old bloodhound/chow mix, enjoying about a foot of snow, BEFORE it was covered in an inch of ice and absolutely miserable to try to walk around on:

Aww! My dogs love the snow. I have to put coats on them because they stay outside too long :P.

There was a dump of snow where I live, too. My bigger dog is loving it, and after walks or playing in it when he comes in, he just wants to go right back out! He'll be jumping through the snow and running, it certainly makes him more frisky! It's too deep for my little guy though, over his head makes it tricky for him to navigate in the yard! And he gets chilly even with a sweater on and a jacket overtop. Both dogs used to live in much colder climates, and weren't fans of snow, but now it's an exciting novelty!

Have you guys seen Bailey, the snow dog? I crack up EVERY time I watch it. He's so happy.

I'm in Portland too!! This is epic for the Valley. It's still snowing right now. My husband is supposed to catch a flight this morning but most of PDX is shut down.

But my dog can't bound through the snow anymore, even though we have a foot on the ground, because there's a half-inch thick layer of ice on top.

But here he is in the snow from last year, though we didn't get much!

(I couldn't find any rules in the policies and guidelines about image size or number in threads, only about acceptable content and uploading to the gallery. I hope this is okay! Please let me know if it is not and I will edit right away.)

You de-feminized your poor boy poodle!

My dog is no fun to play with in the snow. She's too good at running in it! When we go our frozen lake, she's ooff like a rocket. We had to get her a botty on one foot because she actually tore her nail off...!

You have snow1 I want some! It's 19 degrees today, but on Christmas it's supposed to be 60. So it doesn't look like we will be getting any snow any time soon. What a bummer.

I think dogs are hysterical in the snow... Just like horses their first time in the snow. Just like people, animals love the snow, or they absolutely hate it!

Hehehehe, luckily he has no idea what "feminine" even means so I don't think it's a hardship for him.

The groomer puts the bows on when he gets his monthly haircut.

I miss having snow for about two days a year. The rest of the year, I'm glad it's not freezing and that I don't have to shovel.

Lucky you for snow! I am in Fl, 80 degrees we had today oh boy, and when I think back home they had like 22 today and it snowed a few on Xmas Eve. Maybe next year will snow too and I will be there to play with my dog. Wanted to post a picture from last year, but I can not find it ( I brought one of my hard drives from home, 250gb, and it is full).
