Re: Men and their animals

I have come to realize that alot of people dont even know what they are. And when you tell them they are called guinea pigs, 5 minutes later they forget. They are called hamsters, gerbils, rats, everything but guinea pigs. Even my husband has to stop and think before he says what they are.

Don't worry, I didn't let them run around with the other animals, just sniff noses and such.
Have a great New Year all you Pigg nuts(I mean the people, not the guinea pigs.
Here's two of my sows during a 1,300 mile trek to New York City.

Marilyn, on the right actually gained weight on her vacation. Princess (on left) was a little freaked out.

My niece was more than happy to have lap time with the little girls.

My wife is just as a big guinea pig fan as me. But my friends do not understand the mania.

My mom also calls them gerbails from time to time. And when I correct her she say's Yeah whatever! Ahh it gets on my nerves.

awwwwwwwww how cute and i give your girls credit for a 1,300 mile trip too. My family is like that about how the piggies are the same as other small animals too. I get mad too.

It is annoying when ignorant people call them things other than guinea pigs, but you kind of just have to see if you can get them to see a difference, because then they really gain alot of respect for guinea pigs and small and fuzzy's and animals in general, and that can actually have really good long-term results, especially if they are you parents or something. but i am not saying it is not hard. And i had a hamster for five years, and they are also really great little critters, they do not sleep the whole day, and when Tashagurl said that, it was just like somebody saying that about the pigs, only for the hamsters.

Re: Men and their animals

I actually got the cavy-bugs from my boyfriend! He always had piggies at home, too bad he only had one at a time. I only know his latest pig. It's a male and he is five years old. It's the most adorable pig I know, very attatched and used to humans. It's so funny, he is about five years old now so he walks very slowly and funny and has grown huge I really love that pig.

I have a picture somewhere were he fell asleep with the pig..
