Bottled Water

I just learned that the plastic bottles that bottled water comes in is a one use only. After that it breaks down and can lead to cancer(I know lots of things cause cancer). If the plastic gets hot(like in a car or outside) the plastic will break down and leach out all sorts of nasty chemicals. I thought everyone here is so health contious I would tell you what I have done and the new product I love. Its called Nalgene- A water bottle that does not breakdown. I have this one
FilterForGood: Partners
I love the flip cap. I don't have the pitcher because my refrigerator filters my water. Lots of companies make nalgene bottles and I am now going to get one for everyone in my household. Mine was around $5.00 and came with some crystal lite to try.I found it on the shelf at my local grocery store. They are also tough and can go through the dishwasher. They have tons on ebay. I also like the idea of not having all the recycling building up in my house.
Sorry if I sound like a commercial but these bottles are really nice.

Re: Bottled Water

I've had a nalgene for 10 years. I've dropped it off cliffs (literally) and it's dinged but still in one piece. I love my nalgenes (I have 4-5 now). I've used them everywhere from the office to a 6-week backpacking trip.

They've had some issues with the #7 plastic leaching, but to be honest while everyone is worrying about it, it's not a huge ordeal. The media just ran with it. You ingest far worse every day.

Re: Bottled Water

Hey! My grandmother has one of those. I just thought it was a really neat waterbottle with an awesome idea for a mouth piece part. My grandma keeps nagging on me about rewarming my leftovers in glass dishes instead of anything plastic. It annoys the crap out of me cause I live out of tupperware. I'm going to have to get me one of those bottles.
