Back in February, my husband brought home the season 1 DVD box set of a show called, "Jericho". (he bought it just on a whim, neither one of us had heard of it before)
Jericho is about a small town in Kansas that escaped damage/fallout when 23 American cities were destroyed by nuclear bombs in one day. Season 1 is an interesting portrayal of the changes in people and society in general after the bombs go off. One of the citizens in Jericho may well be one of the terrorists that are accused of setting off the bombs. Is he, or, isn't he? The truth behind the attacks is only hinted at during the first season. In Season two, all hell breaks loose as the truth about the attacks starts getting out.
Jericho almost did not get a second season. CBS cancelled it at the end of season one. Jericho fans were so livid that they sent THOUSANDS of pounds of nuts to the programming executives at CBS. After a month or so had passed, the network actually REVERSED its decision and agreed to put Jericho back on the air!!
But, it seemed that CBS did everything it could to make Jericho fail again. First, they only ordered seven episodes for season two. Second, they made it a "mid-season" replacement. Third, they gave it an awful time slot: 10pm Tuesdays. Lastly, they did very little promotion for the show. You can guess the rest. Just a few days before the last episode of season two was to air, CBS again cancelled Jericho.
Again, Jericho's fans are trying very hard to get the show back on the air...on any network that will pick it up. I hope that they are successful. Jericho is a darn good show. The writing is tight. The actors deliver razor sharp performances.

Take a look at a few episodes. Jericho is a darn good show. I really hope that it will be picked up by another network. You see, I am ready to pop a gasket waiting to find out what will happen if Jericho ever gets season 3.
