Everyday/night you rinse your hair with just water and then condition, or use a leave in conditioner.

You only wash your hair once or twice a week depending on how it looks/feels. What brands of shampoos do you use, and are they very expensive?

I'm thinking about trying it. The only problem I see is in the summer when I get sunscreen and sand gunk in my hair.

This really is interesting.

The price depends on what you try and what works for you, Some can be as much as $20.00, but some can be as little as $1.00 (Vo5). I am going to try some conditioner in my hair my mom got today, get this it was $20.00 for a 12 oz bottle!! Online it was $9.00, so the salon priced it at $11.00 over what it would be online, crazy!!

Re: Curly hair....

I have lonmg curly hair. Here are some good things to use on your hair, curly, wavy, or straight!

Lemon juice- Lemon juice is a GREAT natural replacement for setting gel and hairspray. It lasts about a week in the fridge from what I've been told.

Banana Conditioner
1 ripe banana
1 egg yolk
1 Tablespoon of honey

Mash all of these ingredients up in a bowl, and don't stop 'till it's smooth, or you can use a blender. Apply it to fairly damp hair. Make sure it is all over your hair, and not just the scalp. Cover your hair with a shower cap for about 10-15 minutes so it works. Lastly, rinse your hair in warm water, and shampoo. Shampooing is optional.

Re: Curly hair....

I'm not sure what my hair is classified as. It gets curly at the top, like ringlets of small hair growing in. It's wavy at the bottom... But in the middle it's rather straight. I used to have long, wavy hair but I got it cut rather short. I wash it every other day to every three days. But on the third day... I get really concious about it. It starts looking greasy. That only happens when I have to rush out the door before I can shower.

Re: Curly hair....

I too have curly hair, but it is baby fine. Living in AZ where there is very little moisture it looks like I stick my finger in electrical sockets on a daily basis. When I was in Il where there was lost of moisture I had a natural fro.
I wash it about twice/three times a week and use a deep conditioner every time.
I have wanted my whole life to have long rich luxiourous hair. Sigh...
My poor grand daughter inherited my baby fine hair with no curls.
My son has the ringlet curls, when he lets it grow long. He always said "Ma, the girls just love curling their fingers around my hair." His wife cried when he cut off his curls and went to short hair. My son is a beautiian. He cuts and does my hair and he hates it. To fine and to many cowlicks. Oh well. what can I say...

Re: Curly hair....

Ok I have jumped into the no washing every day pool. I have to admit that I'm liking how my hair is responding. For almost the past week I have washed it every other day, with a rinsing every night when I take my shower.

I got a "lo poo" shampoo and a conditioner by the same company. They also make the leave in conditioner that I've been using. My hair has been much calmer and even shiny.

The big test will come during the summer with the super high humidity here. But for now...I'm a believer! (Hey hey we're the Monkee's...)

Re: Curly hair....

Has anyone ever tried Wen WEN® by Chaz Dean& ?

I just ordered it. I have been looking for a more natural type shampoo. I have red color treated hair and have a hard time keeping the color! Red fades really fast! I'm planning on trying this out after I get my hair colored again. I'll let you know how it works!

Re: Curly hair....

I haven't even ever heard of it. I'm going to try a different conditioner thats only $8.00 a bottle next, after my hair is fixed witht the reconstructing treatment.

I usually shampoo my hair once/twice a week. Never brush it unless I'm going to hop into the shower right after I do. quote]

I can't even imagine not washing my hair all the time or brushing it. Then again...I have stick straight, does virtually nothing, red hair...so I can't really relate with that. I did have several perms though...and as much as I liked the look...they were a pain in the butt and took so much time in upkeep that I just won't go there again.
