Imput Please - Bunny Color Sheet for Kids

My son's kindergarten class is talking about rabbits and hares this week. I made this sheet to send in with him. I am also going to see if there would be a chance for me to come in to talk about bunnies with the kids. What do you think? I didn't want to come off "preachy" but to list some tidbits about domestic rabbits while communicating that rabbits require appropriate care and attention.
The bottom reads:
*Remember that all pets require alot of attention and work. It is important that an adult is the primary care giver to ensure that a pet bunny gets all the care it needs! If you and your family are interested in a pet bunny, please consider adoption as there is many who are in need of forever homes already!*

Visit House Rabbit Society Rabbit Care Guide for more info!

Worried it may be a bit wordy for 5 and 6 yr olds but it's an important part of the paper I feel.

It may be much for kids, but it would be a great lesson for parents. We still need to be taught sometimes too!

Display, Company, Emotions, and Humans. You might want to make smallier words for little ones. It looks great

Re: Input Please - Bunny Color Sheet for Kids

Well I talked to the teacher this afternoon when I picked up my son, she is going to let me come do Q and A with the kids tomorrow, so I'll take out the portion at the bottom. I can change "company" to "friendship". The emotions I wanted in there because each week the school teaches a "lifeskill" and most are emotions. The human thing, I would think too they wouldn't understand but my son and his friends are captivated with the differences between humans, animals, robots and aliens ().

I appreciate the input!

I think any information you can give the kids and parents will be well worth your time and theirs'. It's never too early to learn how to properly take care of and love our pets(babies).

I think that some owrds may be a bit much for little children. Like emotions- try feelings?
But it looks great! That is a great thing you are doing!

Re: Imput Please - Bunny Color Sheet for Kids

If this is something the kids would be taking home, I would leave that bottom part in for the parents to see. And since you are actually going to be there and not just handing the sheet out, I think leaving it as is would be fine. It would give you some discussion points. For example: "Do you know what <display, emotions, company, etc> means?" And then you can explain.

After all, they are kindergarteners and chances are they won't be able to actually read this sheet anyway, so it really is more for the adults, (in my opinion).

By the way, very cute bunny picture.
