I'm so torn.

I know I shouldn't look, but I can't stay off of gumtree (kind of a uk version of Craig's List), ever since someone I know of came across really sick piggers advertised on the site.

Anyway, in amongst the usual 'guinea pigs for sale, free to a good home, kids have lost interest etc', there is the occasional little piggy or two that just calls out to me. The advert below has been on for a while.
Female Guinea Pig (3 yrs) looking for new home South Queensferry Edinburgh pets for sale adoption cats dogs birds
This owner clearly doesn't want to get her piggy another pal. The chances are that the other one didn't die of anything like pasteuralla, as presumably they had been together a while, and this piggy is unlikely to have survived. However, theres that chance with any piggy.

Then tonight I saw this:
2 Male Guinea pigs plus outdoor Hutch run Indoor cage Extra s 75.00 ono Dalkeith, Midlothian Edinburgh pets for sale adoption cats dogs birds
The person is, on the one hand a typical 'bought it for my kid and want loads of money for it, even though you're taking my pets' entire lifetime costs off my hands', and yet on the other, they have really tried to care well for them, big run, bringing them indoors at night etc.

I don't want those piggies to go to someone who will leave them outdoors all the time. I say that with every advert. Garrgh. I keep thinking of that little female all by herself.

I know I shouldn't even consider the pigs from either person, as there are always more, but am I finally losing my mind in thinking that some guineas deserve me to take them in more than others?

Why do I feel more drawn to piggies that are in danger of losing a 'relatively' pampered life for an ordinary one, rather than the piggies in posts that just read 'free guinea pigs'. Is there a right answer?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Woops. Apologies for posting a new thread twice. I took so long typing I had to sign in again and it all froze up. Sorry, clicked twice.

Re: I'm so torn.

Yeah, there are a ton of guinea pigs listed online and when i'd inquire to the health, food and just general care they have been given it's always been bad news for the piggers so i don't take them in knowing it will be my responsiblity to take of something that was ill because of misinformation, ignorance, or whatever the case may be. I feel bad about it, but i know i'd rather start from the begining og their and take of them the best way i know how. it doesn't mean i wouldn't adopt. I'd love to. Just not from a couple of knuckehead parents not willing to care for their kids animals because they "tired" of them, illness and the refusal to do anything about it but dump them on me, etc. I called the local humane society today just to ask if any guinea pigs needed homes and the woman said they haven't gotten them in the shelter for a long time. I told her that was good news and she was taken back by it asking if i was looking to adopt of surrender one. Adopt i said, but was happy to know that there weren't any homeless ones.
