Most of you all have been on the Cavyspirit website a time or two. Well I went there tonight and they had a slideshow of guinea pigs with the most saddest music. Well this slide show was about guinea pigs needing a home or abandoned at shelters. My 3 yr old son was watching it with me and he looks at me and said "They lost their mommy! they miss their mommy, Mommy!" and I turned to look at him and saw his pouty lip going and a tear running down his cheek. OH i just bawled my eyes out watching my just turned 3 year old son crying because he feels sorry for a guinea pig. That really touched me tonight. I hope this means he will be a good helper with the guinea pigs and respect them like I do. Last edited by Dodge; 03-09-08 at 08:56 pm. |

That's sweet. As long as you are the primary caretaker for your GPs, your son could learn valuable lessons about responsibility by helping with their care. |

Oh yes I am the primary caregiver. I don't understand how some people could leave a 3 year old in charge of a guinea pig, that is crazy! |

That's so sweet. My four year old daughter is a softy when it comes to animals too. One day we were driving home and for some reason we ended up talking about people who don't have pets in their home or at all. She thought I was making it up, she could not imagine a household not having pets. I had to absolutely convice her some people just don't have any pets at all. She tells me all the time she wants to be an animal doctor when she grows up. When she was born I was told I'd have to get rid of my animals, especially my large dog. When she was old enough I just taught her how to treat animals and how to be good to them. Now she has the "big dog" Rowdy wrapped around her little finger. |
