Re: English TV

I've seen the BBC sometimes, but I really don't know. I'd assume so.

Re: English TV

I remember that we used to watch Are you being Served? in the States.

But I think there's an American BBC which has English shows?

Several years ago "Absolutely Fabulous" was extremely popular. Back when I was in college I was addicted to "The Young Ones". Usually if American producers like a British T.V. show they reshoot it in America. That's what happened with "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and "The Weakest Link"...they even brought the host of the Weakest Link show over from the U.K.

Re: English TV

Exactly. When my brother went to America he couldn't beleive how many commercials there are. We only get one per show which lasts about 3-4 minutes. On the BBC there are no commericals, not even between shows

Re: English TV

On BBC america they show a show called Changing rooms. It's about neighbors switching each others houses and designing them for them and hoping that they'll like it.

Re: English TV

I used to be a HUGE fan of Red Dwarf, but they've taken that off. And I usually hate soap operas ( american soap operas at least) but I'm mad about EastEnders here. In fact it comes on in about 30 minutes! But I also watch " As time goes By", " Are You being served?", " The Vicar of Dibley (sp?)", " Kiss me Kate" and just about any British show they have on PBS. That's the only place I can get it from since I don't have the international channel or BBC.

Re: English TV

I used to love Red dwarf! Me and my brother were fanatics and we would always watch it every friday. Eastenders is also great, I've been watching it since I was 7!

Re: English TV

Yeah, where I'm at we're about 2 years behind what's going on now in britain. The slaters and millers haven't even come to the square yet. I'm trying to find a site with some old episodes so I can catch up!
