Tattoos

Ive pretty well decided to get one.. although im not one to tolerate much pain, so it will be small.. I do need some help coming up with a design though. I want something pro animal rights, something thats meaningul, but all the ones I have seen like that are huge.

Im thinking of maybe getting something close to this.. PETA Bunny Charm Tattoo on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
but with words of some kind inside the heart..

Has anyone else here gotten a tattoo? Im wondering where I should get mine done, somewhere not very painful. *cringes when thinking of needles*

Re: Tattoos

I like that tattoo! A good tattoo artist should be able to help you decide where to put it so it's not painful. I have a small one on the back of my right shoulder and I barely felt it.

Re: Tattoos

There was a thought I had. My friend told me if I could handle labor I definitely could handle a tattoo. Lol. I was thinking about one on the inside of my ankle. I am still debating on what to get.

Re: Tattoos

How bad does it hurt exactly or does it depend on where you get it? When I'm older and out of the house I want to get a tiger or wolf. I'm such a tom boy and thats a good thing oh and I'm leaning towards the wolf I love wolves.

Re: Tattoos

Tatto's aren't as painful as you would thinkI hae a good sized one on my chest, and large one on my calf, and a name on the back of my neck. I am still deciding where to put another one. Arms and legs are not as painful. Chest, neck, stomach and back are most painful. After a couple of minutes the are goes numb. It also depends on the colour, red fades easily and has to be recoloured every so often, so when tattooing a red colour, they need to imbed the colour deeper, so it hurts more, the one on my chest is all red, it was the most painful.
The tattoo you show, since it's only an outline is very simple. But the outline is also deeper than the inside colouring, but the one you show woul not be so bad.

Re: Tattoos

Th rules ae different now, here it is 18, but with a parent it is 16. It useto be with a parent there was no age limit. The one on my chest I got when I was 12, I was in grade 7. My dad took me because I was going to go no matter what, an he wanted to make sure I went somewhere reputable. So believe me if I could do it at 12, it is not as bad as you think. Although, I do have a high pain tolerance, all 3 of my children were natural births, an one of them was 9lbs 6.4 oz.

Re: Tattoos

The one on my chest is two hearts intertwined with a ribbon through it, with mine and my husbands intials, (when I got it at 12 he was my boyfried, I am now 26 and we are married, luckily) , the one on my neck is my husbands nick name, the one on my leg is a panda bear, and underneath it is my kids names, it is a big ribbon, through them, and is says Chelsea then a heart,Terrin then a heart Quinn, so their names are in the ribbon with a heart in between each name, hope it makes sense...

Re: Tattoos

I have one on the outside of my ankle. I took a photo in of my dog and got a cartoon drawing of her done up, then got it tattooed. I have very skinny ankles, so I was worried about the pain. I got myself worked up for nothing basically. Some spots burned, others I barely felt it. It really was depending on whether he was doing the outline, or the shading. It was very tolerable, though.

Re: Tattoos

It feels nothing like a needle and it is the black outline that hurts. The color I didn't even feel. It feels like (at least to me) someone is taking a very sharp object and pinching the skin to snip it. I half expected them to be able to lift the ladybug right off my hip like a sticker peeling away. It is not horribly painful and despite what you hear, feels nothing like a bee sting. Bee stings hurt more. I want another someday. It is addicting-though I'm sure it has to do with endorphines being released-a natural high of sorts. I was so excited and hyper after mine was done. Good luck and keep us posted!

Re: Tattoos

I have an infinity symbol tattooed on the back of my neck. It is fairly high up so it isn't visible when my hair is down. Although society is becoming more accepting of tattoos, I do think having them in a place where they can be concealed is a good idea. I love mine, it has very personal and spiritual implications for me. It didn't hurt at all, in fact, getting it done tickled a lot- they had to keep stop because I was laughing! Then again, I am a little twisted and I rather like pain sometimes.
