Meeting the pigs

So for those who don't know me well... I'm out of college and live on the opposite side of the country from my parents.

They are coming to visit today. I'm horribly excited and nervous about them meeting Duncan and Starbuck (everyone loves my pigs I know they will). They've met past boyfriends and I've never felt this nervous.

I think it's not that my parents will love my pigs, but my pigs might not love my parents. They loved my sister after the first day she visited. Perhaps they'll be happy because I'll be sleeping next to their cage on the couch.

Ok, that's enough of my silly rant! Cross your fingers!

Re: Meeting the pigs

Maybe you should have them give the piggies some veggies, that never hurts!

By the way, I also live on the opposite side of the country and my entire family is 3000 miles away! I can relate to your excitement to see them. I'm visiting home in August and I'm already ecstatic about it!

I'm in Seattle, it's cold here in the summers!

They are only here to the 4th, my place is kinda small so floortime will be limited. The pigs won't like that much. Plus my dad will be sleeping on the couch in the evenings so Duncan can't sleep on it himself. He wont' like that.

Hmm I think my pigs are spoiled.

Haha, I'm from Seattle originally! It sounds like we have the same situation, just flip-flopped! (Right now the cold Seattle summers sound awful nice... It's been 95 F here lately!)

Re: Meeting the pigs

So my Dad is a softie and they've learned that he's most likely to give in and go to the fridge. Hence he's on the ok list.

They tolerate my mom and aren't sure about her yet.

My sleeping on the couch is a big hit. They tried to wake me up multiple times to play and then tried to pretend it was "morning" at 3:30am and begged for a carrot.

Re: Meeting the pigs

Ha ha! My pigs get confused about times too. Something will set them off so that they think it's a feeding time and it's not! And it's a little hard to reason with them and explain that the plastic bag they heard was a chip bag and there are no carrots inside.

I've slept near my pigs a few times and I don't understand how people who keep them in their bedrooms can sleep! Between the clanking of water bottles and spats over who's pigloo is whose... I'm less than wide eyed and bushy tailed in the AM.
