Re: I've got a new kitten!

Your new kitty is soooo cute. I'm glad you are allowed to keep him. I just told my husband that I will be getting 2 more piggies this weekend, well I told him over the phone. That way, he can't strangle. By the time he gets home from work he will have accepted the fact that he will have 2 more mouths to feed.

Re: I've got a new kitten!

Susan, you're cats are beautiful. I had to do a bit of a double take, your Oscar looks exactly like, Abe, the cat I had when I was a kid. He was my best friend for many years. It just brought back some good memories.

Re: I've got a new kitten!

I'm loving reading all these names. I think we're going to go with Grover. It's the only that that seems to fit. But I'd still love to hear more suggestions.

We were going to go to the vet today and find out if it's a boy or a girl, but I came down with strep throat, so I spend the morning in a prima care office. Lots of fun. Monday I'll find out for sure.

Re: I've got a new kitten!

Your cats are beautiful Susan! That photo is gorgeous! His/her facial markings are very pronounced especially around the eyes, which reminds me of something - but I'm not sure what.

Therefore, some more name ideas:

Wispy
Cleo (if it's a 'she' - she has Cleopatra eyes!)
Charcoal/Charlie - boy or girl - the 'Willow' I first though of was from the 'smokey' description, thus 'Charcoal'! (are you with me - or is the wine taking over? )

Give her/him a kiss and cuddle from me! Let us know as soon as you find out the sex. My guess is female!

Re: I've got a new kitten!

My gender-neutral name suggestion is "Grayson". I always liked the name Grayson and thought I would use it for a daughter if I had one. Then I found a wild 4-week-old kitten on the 4th of July one summer in my Grandma's shed and she looked like a Grayson to me (grey and white colored). We had just been talking about how we thought my Grandma's neighbor had shot the mother cat and the kittens had not been seen when that little tiny girl was spotted. Took a couple of days to tame her and then it was like she had never been a wild screeching clawing kitten.

When my daugher was born, I named her Madison. The cat was still alive then (she only lived to be 5 sadly) so for me, using the name wasn't an option.

Re: I've got a new kitten!

Okay this is kind of a stupid name, but it's my husband's choice. We keep calling it kitten, so my husband keeps saying "Let's just name it kitten." But that will sound stupid when it's full grown. So ..... <drum roll> .... the name is KitKat "The Pouncer" Darling.

yeah, I know.

Re: I've got a new kitten!

My Mom named the cat I got in 10th grade Kat.

My children have renamed her Meow.
She doesn't respond to anything but food anyhow.

Re: I've got a new kitten!

Your cats are beautiful. They look like they might be part Maine Coon cats. I personally love that breed, but they are very smart and problem solvers.

Re: I've got a new kitten!

Thanks.

My husband now says he's not sold on the name "Kitkat." So we're back to square one. I suppose it will help when we find out if it's a boy or a girl.

Re: I've got a new kitten!

I agree with not using Madison if you want to name a child that. I knew a man who knew he was named after his Father's favorite dog and I think he had "issues". Of course his name was...Laddy. No, I am NOT making this up, although I wish I were.

I would be calling that kitten Ears as a temporary name. He/she is adorable and will, I realize, grow into those ears but they are so cute now.
