    iGive

Does anyone know how to use iGive? I subscribed, and everytime I go to a website that is inscribed a yellow window pops up and says the amount that they'll donate to the Cavy Rescue, but I don't understand how to purchase through it so that the rescue gets the funds. I want to buy Aspen bedding and fleece and probably towels and toys. The iGive window is active. Does this mean that my online shopping is automatically tallying up the percentages or do I have to click on something?

Edit- Petco offers a 4% donation. Isn't it deliciously ironic that they're kind of paying back to one of the rescues which pick up after them?

Ironic yes, but I'm not sure about deliciously. Buying from Petco online really isn't better than walking into the store.

It works great. I use it. Once that little window pops up and goes away, the charity you've designated will get the percentage of donation. It just takes a while. I LOVE the little popup window, because I forget to use iGive and donation money is being tossed out the door.

For example, I frequently register domain names with GoDaddy, and get a % of that.

I figure, the more money Petstupid and Petsdon'tgo make online, the more they might consider dropping the expense of animals in the store. Who knows. I know they most definitely pay attention to their channels of distribution.

www.iGive.com/CavySpirit helps support this site and the Cavy Spirit Rescue. Or the charity of your choice. It does NOT affect the price you pay.

I pointed that out myself to someone on another post. I didn't mean it's good to do so, only that it's deliciously (in a perverse way) ironic.

I know! Like, honestly if I were them I'd just switch to an online business, especially since they offer holiday promotions of free shipping, which is a great deal for people who buy huge amounts of bedding/litter or animal furniture which weights a LOT.
