No Nintendo Wii for me

Tried as I did. I couldn't get a wii. My friend drove 20 minutes to a Super Target and got a ticket but it's limited 1 per customer. Other wise I would have given him my money to get one for myself. I did get a copy of Zelda so I have to wait this weekend or in a couple weeks to get the unit. Oh well, by then I can get an extra controller anyhow.

Me ane my brother waited 23 hours in the frezing cold for the playstation 3, just to find out that the store manager was going to do a stupid Lottery thing (unn like every other store!) to find out who was 1st-6th. even tho we were first in line. Me and my brother ended up with nothing.

Sorry you didn't get a Wii. Me and my boyfriend waited outside K-mart from 7pm yesterday evening until 8 this morning. They only had nine there and everywhere else was sold out.

My friend got the last one at a Toys R Us 20 minutes away. He's on his way with a couple of friends so we are going to have a Wii party.

I was going to camp out with a buddy of ours last night, but decided bringing da boy along would be a Bad Idea (3 year old + potentially dangerous place to camp = bad), so backed out.

I wasn't going to buy a wii... I wanted to go for amusement purposes. He also needed at least two people with him so he could buy two. Currently, he's still known as 'In Line' on the IRC place we hang out, so it'll be interesting to find out if he actually survived the ordeal.

I'll get my wii when I can buy one used at ebgames, just like every other game console I've gotten since the game cube ^.^

I'll get Zelda: Twilight Princess if they're actually selling it for the Game Cube as soon as I can, though. Yay wolf Link!

I think my boyfriend is insane. It was below freezing and he went to stand in front of target for 8hours to get one. He's still whining about the cold while playing zelda. He preordered from FYE but then the manager said the company doesn't actually put in orders ahead of time for such things so they were never guranteed any and didn't get any. At last now this means his ps2 is free for me to play if I find any time.

Hubby actually preordered ours. We just drove up at midnite and picked it up. Of course, he waited 3 hours in the PRE order line. Good thing too, since Gamestop only got 25 of them in that store.

Been trying to get one of these for my boyfriend, and I didn't have to sense to preorder one. I figured since so many were going to be made it wouldn't be too much of a hassle to get one.

It's been really frusterating because evry place I go to refuses to tell me when they expect their next shipment. I basicly have to go in each store every day and hope I do so once at just the right time. Argh...

Just happened across this thread.
My boyfried waited for about a day for the Wii. The people started to really line up at 3am that Sunday outside the Best Buy. We already new that they would be having 85 in stock. He was number 47 and once he paid for it he came to my PT job to rub it in that he was going to be playing it before me.

Both him and I have been hooked to this thing. I love Zelda Twilight Princess and can't wait for the holidays since I have other games one my wish list.

Another blow. I went on a break to get to Best Buy because they had the system in, 30 systems but when I walked in the door. They announced they had just sold out. There were 3 people waiting just in case someone's credit card didn't go through or something. However, I gave up. So, here's to Tuesday at Target.

It might seem like they made alot but it's nothing. They'll be selling out on through christmas and it will probably be a few months into next year before you can find one easily. Happens with most every new system. When the xbox 360 was released I drove my sister's boyfriend to walmart at 3am and helped him get one. They had drawn numbers earlier for a sort of last minute preorder but people claimed the numbers weren't given out in order. So then everyone just about rioted and one guy grabbed one and walked off a ways with it and wouldn't give it back. We were there for hours before we managed to get one and there wasn't even more people than systems there. It just took that long to get it all sorted out and calm everyone down. There's also been people stabbed and shot over PS3s. Personally I'd rather wait than go through the effort of getting a new system on launch.

You won't get one that way unless your showing up a few hours before a store opens. It usually gets leaked to the online forums what store is getting in new systems when and usually even exactly how many. There will be a line and the store will be sold out before you even know they got some in. That's one reason they won't tell you when they are getting them. Then they'd have dozens or in some areas 100s of people waiting in line. Even in a little town here in Iowa there will be a line of at least 10-20 people in front of every walmart, target, best buy, etc... hours before they open.

Chris has several game forums he goes to but the only one I know is gamefaqs.com. I rarely accomplish fiinishing a game without using one of the walkthroughs on there. I'm really bad at video games. Half the time I'm using a walkthrough and still begging Chris to do parts of it for me. He's already finished Zelda and I'm still only on the 3rd temple. I might beat it by next fall.

Woot! I've heard rumors about a couple stores that will have them in on Sunday. I'm going to try to confirm these tomorrow. Now I just need to figure out what time I should set up camp. I'm thinking... 5 am?
