CCC is Moving! (again)
We only moved over to Northern Ireland in August 05, but we are set to move into our third house here.
My dad got promoted so we have to move a few streets down to bigger, posher houses. (Without giving too much away, he is now Captain Dave).
This will be my 16th house so far. My dad has worked for 25 years to get this promotion!
We could move as early as next week. We get given 5 or 6 keys to empty houses and we go pick! We have our eye on a very smart looking one I am able to see from my bedroom window. It is positive luxury compared with what I have known all my life. One reason is bcause it is detached! No more screaming 3 year olds at midnight all year long (at least until the twins get to that age...).
We should definitely be moved by mid-December.
We have only known we will be moving so imminently for a matter of days. He got his promotion last Wednesday and early this week we found that we are entitled to move as soon as we want! The sooner the better now we have the twins.
It is going to be madness, total madness. Packing up boxes when we have the twins to entertain and look after, the pigs (one of whom needs to see the vet ASAP due to an eye problem) plus two elderly dogs (aged 16 and 13)...I need all the help I can get to stay sane! It may only be two streets away but we have only just started - I'm looking after the babies all day while my mum starts packing, I do my packing in the evening - and I am exhausted!
Everybody must be fed up of hearing me say "I'm Moving" by now. Since I have been here I have moved house 3 times - well 4 times now!

Re: CCC is Moving! (again)
Congratulations to your dad Laura! And to all of you too - wow a big posh house! How exciting! What does this mean for the piggies? (priorities!!) I know you just recently changed their cage, and moved them back into your room, so - what's next?
Hope piggy with sore eye recovers soon!

Re: CCC is Moving! (again)
If the room is big enough, the pigs get their cage rebuilt and maybe even made bigger. They will be in my bedroom again. Although, there is an extra room downstairs (presumably a study) that would make a superb piggie room. No I would worry about them too much. It took me a full month for me to stop worrying about leaving them downstairs at night the first time so I will stick to keeping them in my room.
But we will be settled for 2 years so it means I can do more with the cage, make it more how I want it rather than what will stand up to being split into sections, hauled into a removals truck and then reconnected every year or so.
Charlie says thank you for the good wishes. His eye problem isn't serious but it is becoming a problem. He will be going to the vet before the week is out.

Re: CCC is Moving! (again)
I have lived in three different houses, in three different cities, in the past three years. I kind of like moving, but I am looking forward to living where I am now for a while. I'm a little bit of a pack-rat, so moving really helps me clear out all the clutter! The new house is like a Christmas present for the whole family for you!
It sounds like a really fun way to pick a new house - finding a good place is always the hard part for me. Can't wait to see pictures of the new cage you build. You should get the biggest bedroom since there will be five of you living in there!

Re: CCC is Moving! (again)
Well congrats to your dad CCC. A big promotion like this plus the expanded family a new house will be good in the long run. I hope Charlie is ok, Herc had an eye problem back in July but it wasn't too serious but I was besides myself.

Wow, your 16th house? How do you do it.
Best of luck getting things all in order for the move. And don't forget piggy kisses for Sir Charles.
